It’s early in the mushroom foraging season. So, this event is unlikely to yield huge baskets of wild mushrooms. There will however be various species to look at and some edibles to pick. I imagine we will do quite a bit of walking and hunting. Identifying the trees, plants and mushrooms that we come across. We will be hunting for edible mushroom species, discussing how to identify poisonous species etc. The location is in the North West of the New Forest so only really suitable if you drive.
This morning collecting edible wild mushrooms is in an area of stunning woodland where we will be learning to safely identify edible and poisonous species. Getting to understand how these amazing organisms protect, regulate and manage the forest ecosystem. This walk will be led by Forage London’s John Rensten.

Depending on conditions I may cancel this event at short notice (and issue full refunds) if I do, I cannot be responsible or travel that you have paid for.
Please be advised before booking, some of our mushroom forays may not be suitable for people with mobility difficulties so if in any doubt please email me in advance. In addition, please be aware that although these events run for approximately 3 hours, that could easily turn out to be 4 hours instead, so I urge you not to book a posh lunch somewhere timed precisely to coincide with the end of the walk, give yourself plenty of leeway.
